Advancing laboratory quality through GCLP excellence at Wits Diagnostic Innovation Hub, Parktown and Braamfontein, South Africa

Aug 6, 2026 | GCLP Accreditation Scheme

Pharmalys is pleased to recognise the successful completion of a Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) accreditation audit at the Wits Diagnostic Innovation Hub in South Africa, further strengthening the laboratory’s commitment to delivering high quality clinical research. The audit took place on 7-8 July 2026 across the Hub’s Parktown and Braamfontein sites.

The accreditation process was led by Maureen Jangano, Wits DIH Quality Assurance Manager, who worked closely with the laboratory team throughout the audit. Their dedication to maintaining rigorous quality standards and creating a culture of continuous improvement was evident at every stage.

Maintaining GCLP accreditation is about more than meeting regulatory requirements. It demonstrates a laboratory’s commitment to generating reliable, high-quality data while ensuring robust systems, processes and oversight are in place to support clinical research.

As part of Pharmalys’ broader mission, we operate a global GCLP accreditation scheme that provides laboratories of any size or geography with the opportunity to have their clinical trial processes independently assessed and certified. This initiative supports laboratories seeking to enhance data integrity, strengthen quality systems, and demonstrate adherence to international standards. Pharmalys welcomes institutions interested in advancing their GCLP journey to explore this collaborative pathway toward accreditation. Find out more here or contact us today.

Jeanette, Laboratory Solutions and GCLP Team lead at Pharmalys congratulates the entire Wits Diagnostic Innovation Hub team on this important milestone. Pharmalys is proud to continue supporting laboratories across Africa in strengthening quality systems that enable impactful research and improve global health outcomes.
