Pharmalys is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) surveillance audit at the Medical Research Council Unit in The Gambia, conducted from 11 to 18 May 2026 across the Fajara, Basse, and Keneba locations.
The audit was led by Pharmalys GCLP Consultant, Beatrice, and focused on evaluating continued compliance with GCLP standards across the institution’s laboratory and quality systems. The assessment covered operational procedures, quality management practices, documentation standards, staff competency, and adherence to international clinical laboratory requirements.
The successful outcome reflects the ongoing commitment of the institution to maintaining high quality laboratory operations that support internationally recognised clinical research standards.
During the visit, Beatrice met with key members of the leadership and quality teams, including the newly appointed Director, Ed Clarke, Dr Ousman Secka, the Head of Laboratories and the Head of Quality & Risk Management, Yai Louise Ndure Bensouda (photographed above). Their continued support and dedication to quality systems were instrumental in the success of the surveillance audit.
Pharmalys congratulates all staff involved for their professionalism, preparation, and commitment to continuous improvement throughout the audit process.
