Implementing and testing our IT Business Continuity Plan at Pharmalys

Jun 16, 2026 | Quality & Business Excellence

As part of our ongoing digital transformation activities, Pharmalys has implemented and tested its IT Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to support the continuity, security and reliability of critical business operations.

The project was designed to strengthen operational preparedness in the event of cyber incidents, system failures, connectivity disruptions or other operational events affecting business services.

Enhancing our digital environment

Over recent months, the Pharmalys IT team worked closely with key departments to design and implement a business continuity framework aligned with internal governance requirements and industry best practices.

The initiative included several key areas of the Pharmalys’ digital environment, including:

  • Microsoft 365 services and collaboration platforms
  • SharePoint Online and document management
  • Identity and access management
  • Device governance
  • Communication and productivity continuity
  • Data protection, backup and recovery procedures
  • Incident response and escalation processes

The objective of the project was to minimise operational disruption, protect critical information assets and maintain continuity of essential business services.

Testing and validation activities

As part of the implementation, a business continuity test scenario was performed to assess organisational readiness and response capabilities under disruption conditions.

The exercise evaluated:

  • System availability and recovery procedures
  • Communication and coordination processes
  • Access continuity for critical users and services
  • Incident response activities
  • Backup and restoration procedures
  • Roles and responsibilities during a disruption

The test confirmed the organisation’s ability to maintain essential operations while validating the effectiveness of the implemented controls and recovery measures.

Supporting compliance and governance

The initiative also supports broader governance, compliance and information security objectives across Pharmalys.

The implemented measures contribute to alignment with recognised practices relating to:

  • Information security management
  • Data integrity and protection
  • Operational risk management
  • Business continuity and disaster recovery readiness
  • Digital governance and compliance frameworks
Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence

Business continuity activities are subject to regular review as part of Pharmalys’ broader commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Following completion of the testing activities, identified observations and improvement actions will be integrated into future resilience planning and preparedness exercises. This approach supports the ongoing evaluation and enhancement of internal processes, systems and controls through defined governance, performance indicators and monitoring activities.

By maintaining a structured and measurable approach to operational movement, Pharmalys aims to ensure the reliability, security and quality of its business operations and digital services.

Recognising team contribution

We thank all teams and stakeholders involved in supporting the implementation and testing activities.

In particular, we would like to recognise the contribution of Senior IT Officer Cheikh Tidiane and his team for their role in the successful delivery of this initiative.
