December 2025 Newsletter: Pharmalys wishes you a happy festive season!

Dec 11, 2025 | Newsletters

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to take a moment to reflect on what has been a significant and impactful 2025 for Pharmalys. This year marked an important milestone with Pharmalys taking over operations of the GCLP accreditation scheme from Tim Stiles, one of the original authors of the GCLP guidelines, following two years of close collaboration. This transition reinforces our long-standing commitment to strengthening laboratory quality across the globe, supporting organisations in achieving robust, sustainable standards.

Across 2025, we also supported and delivered multiple clinical trials in diverse settings, often under challenging conditions. Whether navigating politically unstable environments, managing safety constraints during site visits, or identifying compliant solutions where infrastructure was limited, our teams worked with resilience, adaptability, and unwavering focus on quality.

Capacity building remained a central pillar of our mission. This year, we expanded our work to reinforce knowledge and skills across the clinical research ecosystem, from clinical research professionals to Ethics Committees and Regulatory Authorities. Through targeted training and hands-on workshops across regions, we continued to support stronger, more sustainable systems for ethical and high-quality clinical research.

None of this would have been possible without our exceptional team, whose work across countries and time zones has been at the heart of every achievement. We extend our sincere thanks to all who have worked with us, supported our programmes, or contributed to shared progress throughout the year.

As we close 2025, we wish you a restful and enjoyable festive season, and we look forward to continuing our mission together in the new year to Count Africa In.

Pharmalys CEO Marieme Ba Honoured as an IMPACT WOMAN at Alumni Day 2025

In September 2025, the Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique (ESP) Alumni community gathered at the Azalaï Hotel in Dakar, Senegal, to celebrate Alumni Day, a moment to recognise excellence, leadership, and contribution to society. Among the distinguished honourees was Marieme Ba, CEO and Founder of Pharmalys, who received an IMPACT WOMAN award.

The IMPACT WOMAN category shines a spotlight on alumni who exemplify commitment, leadership, and high-impact action in their fields. Marieme’s recognition reflects not only her achievements as an entrepreneur but also her transformative vision for health research in Africa.

A Leader in Science and Social Responsibility

Marieme founded Pharmalys with a clear mission: to bridge critical gaps and sustain quality in clinical research across Sub-Saharan Africa. In regions where underdeveloped research infrastructure limits progress and policy, Pharmalys has worked to strengthen systems, build capacity, and advocate for inclusivity.

For over a decade, the company has partnered with health authorities, ethics committees, universities, and non-profits to raise awareness, identify systemic gaps, and establish standards of excellence in clinical research across Africa.

Beyond its scientific achievements, Pharmalys is deeply rooted in social responsibility.
