On 24 September 2026, the Pharmalys team came together for the third and final Pharmalys Voice meeting of this year. This session welcomed 40 colleagues across four continents, providing an opportunity to connect, exchange knowledge and celebrate the expertise throughout our company. Pharmalys Voice continues to be an important platform for bringing colleagues together, encouraging collaboration across departments, and giving employees the opportunity to share their experiences with the wider team.
What is Pharmalys Voice?
Pharmalys Voice is a company-wide meeting designed to encourage open dialogue, strengthen cross-functional collaboration, and connect our globally distributed teams. Held three times a year, it provides a dedicated space for colleagues to share their experiences, highlight challenges, exchange ideas, and celebrate achievements from their day-to-day work.
This initiative reflects Pharmalys’ commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and continuous growth. It allows team members to better understand each other’s roles, gain practical insights, and contribute to shaping how we work together. With colleagues spread across multiple countries, these meetings also offer valuable opportunities to build stronger personal connections through interactive and engaging moments.
An important feature of Pharmalys Voice is that it is hosted by a team member outside of the management team. This rotating Master of Ceremony role helps develop leadership and communication skills, while ensuring the meeting remains grounded in the voices and perspectives of the wider team.

September 2026 meeting
This edition of Pharmalys Voice was hosted by Clinical Project Manager and Clinical Operations Team Lead, Nogaye, who served as Master of Ceremony. Nogaye welcomed attendees, introduced the meeting agenda and guided the session throughout the afternoon, ensuring presentations ran smoothly and allowing plenty of time for discussion and questions.
As always, the meeting began with an interactive icebreaker. The game required team members to listen to one minute of a song before guessing which of their colleagues had chosen each song as their favourite. Following each song, a Slido quiz was launched, allowing the team to vote before the answer was revealed. Each team member then had the opportunity to explain why they had chosen their song.
Many colleagues had great stories about why their chosen song resonated with them, including songs that reminded them of a special moment with colleagues. The activity saw plenty of laughter as well as some heartfelt moments, with reminders of the importance of being proud of where you come from and staying strong through difficult times. The ice breaker was an engaging and entertaining way to start the meeting, uplifting spirits and bringing the team together through music.
Welcoming our new team members
Pharmalys welcomed five new team members this month, some of whom joined through the Mastercard Foundation program.
Our newest colleagues delivered five minute presentations introducing themselves to the wider team. Each shared an overview of their academic and professional background, as well as their interests outside of work. All five speakers were warmly welcomed by the team, with several colleagues requesting longer presentations in the future to give them more opportunity to share their backgrounds and experiences in more depth.
Success stories: Relocating to Burkina Faso with Pharmalys
The next presentation took an interview-style format, with Master of Ceremony Nogaye interviewing Clinical Research Associates Mouhamad and Mamadou on their experiences of relocating to Burkina Faso with Pharmalys.
Nogaye asked them several questions about their experiences from both a professional and personal perspective. Their answers were honest, engaging and, at times humorous, providing the wider team with an interesting insight into what it is like to relocate to a new country as part of their work with Pharmalys.
The session offered an opportunity to hear directly from colleagues about their experiences beyond their day to day roles and highlighted the opportunities for professional and personal growth that can come with working across different countries and cultures.
Data Protection, AI and Pharmalys’ approach
Following a 15 minute break, Aminata, who recently joined Pharmalys as a Legal Assistant, presented on the topic of ‘Data Protection and AI’, addressing common principles across data protection laws, global data protection and AI regulations, and why these areas matter in clinical operations.
The presentation provided an interesting introduction to the topic and sparked an engaging discussion during the Q&A, particularly around data longevity and protection.
The final presentation was delivered by Senior IT Officer, Cheikh Tidiane on ‘Pharmalys’ Approach to AI’. He explored how AI can be used in our daily activities, the benefits and potential drawbacks of AI use, the different types of AI tools we may encounter, and how to use them effectively.
The presentation also highlighted areas where we must exercise particular caution, especially when it comes to data protection and the use of AI. It was an informative and thought provoking session, with a number of follow up questions from colleagues during the Q&A, which Cheikh Tidiane addressed throughout the discussion.
Thank you to everyone who participated
Master of Ceremony Nogaye concluded the meeting by thanking all of the speakers and everyone who attended and contributed to the afternoon.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this edition of Pharmalys Voice. From welcoming our newest colleagues and sharing personal experiences to discussing data protection and AI, the meeting provided another valuable opportunity to connect, learn from one another and celebrate the people who make up Pharmalys. We look forward to our next meeting in the new year.
