In April 2024, I embarked on a pivotal journey as the Strategic Projects Coordinator at Pharmalys, an organisation recognised for its commitment to advancing global health through clinical research conducted in adherence to international guidelines and high-quality standards. Joining Pharmalys was not just a career move but a strategic decision aligned with my professional ethos and commitment to elevating clinical research standards worldwide. Since its inception in 2008, Pharmalys has significantly increased its expertise in research projects and expanded collaborations across Europe and Africa. The company has worked with various organisations, including pharmaceutical companies, non-governmental organisations, and institutional structures, cultivating strong professional ties with Key Opinion Leaders, Principal Investigators, and clinical research site staff. Pharmalys’ vision of ‘a world free of unnecessary suffering due to unmet health care needs’ profoundly resonates with my personal and professional ideals, motivating me to make meaningful contributions to this cause.

Advancing Global Health through Research

For me, Pharmalys is a pioneer in clinical research, committed to pushing boundaries and making a real difference. Our dedication to upholding the highest international standards, as well as our commitment to seeking new technologies in our domain is what sets us apart.

At Pharmalys, technological innovation is key to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our research processes. By implementing state-of-the-art data management systems and adopting the latest advancements in electronic data capture, we ensure that our research operations are not only efficient but also scalable. This integration of technology allows us to handle complex datasets with precision, leading to faster, more reliable outcomes from our clinical trials.

In addition to the core CRO services, we’re committed to sharing our knowledge and expertise with others. We regularly offer capacity-building training sessions for Ethics and Regulatory bodies, as well as clinical research site staff who are eager to enhance their knowledge and expertise. My personal commitment to Pharmalys is deeply rooted in our mission to develop treatments and therapies that have the potential to transform patient care worldwide.

In my role, I am dedicated to expanding Pharmalys’ research footprint and enhancing its visibility on the international stage. By exploring new markets and forging strategic alliances with global partners, I am committed to expanding our network and position in the clinical research sector, ensuring that we continue to contribute to scientific advancements and therapeutic breakthroughs.

Why did I join Pharmalys?

My decision to join Pharmalys was heavily influenced by the opportunity to contribute to the Pharmalys Academy of Clinical research Excellence (PACE). Launched in 2023, PACE represents a significant stride towards enhancing the clinical trials ecosystem. It offers a 9-month curriculum which trains newcomers in clinical research, and an apprenticeship course that enables existing clinical research workers to strengthen their knowledge and expertise. The PACE programme is carefully curated to prepare participants for the high demands of the clinical research sector, ensuring they understand international regulatory landscapes, ethical and quality standards, and gain practical experience through a 6-month internship. Our commitment extends beyond education to enhancing the clinical research ecosystem by providing the sector with job-ready newcomers.

As I look ahead, my ambition is to ensure that Pharmalys not only continues to meet the current needs of the healthcare sector but also innovates to address future challenges. The path we are paving at Pharmalys is geared towards creating sustainable and significant impacts in the field of clinical research, advancing global health initiatives, and improving patient outcomes worldwide. Through every project, partnership, and technological advancement, we are setting the stage for a healthier future, driven by research, innovation, and strategic foresight.
