We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the initial GCLP accreditation audit at Hararghe Health Research Laboratory, Haramaya University College of Health and Medical Sciences, Harar, Ethiopia.
The audit took place on 16–17 October 2025 and marked a significant step toward strengthening clinical trial laboratory standards in the region.
A special highlight was the onboarding of Patrick Karugaba, who joins Jeanette Young, Laboratory Solutions and GCLP Team Lead at Pharmalys Ltd, in driving quality and compliance across our GCLP accreditation members.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr Usman Ikumapayi and the dedicated laboratory staff for their professionalism and commitment and for their warm hospitality throughout the process.
This accomplishment demonstrates our shared commitment to conducting laboratory-based clinical research in a way that ensures the safety of participants and staff, maintains data integrity and reliability, and facilitates accurate reconstruction and replicability.
This initiative provides a pathway for any laboratory, regardless of its location or project size, to have its operations independently reviewed and certified against GCLP standards.
